The smartphone patent wars have been underway for a few years now, and the eight lawsuits filed in federal court today by\u00a0<a style=\"font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ip-rockstar.com\/\">Rockstar Consortium<\/a>\u00a0mean that the conflict just hit DEFCON 1.<\/p>\n<p>Google probably knew this was coming.
